Daniel Dubois produced a stunning comeback to defeat Fabio Wardley and win the WBO heavyweight title after a brutal and thrilling contest.
Dubois stopped Wardley in the 11th round and the latter was left bleeding heavily from the bridge of his nose, with his right eye almost completely swollen shut, forcing referee Howard Foster to stop the fight.
It was a nightmare start for Dubois as Wardley dropped him with a huge right hook just 10 seconds into the opening round.
The pressure continued as Dubois went down again in the third round and looked close to being stopped in the sixth after taking serious punishment while trapped on the ropes and bleeding heavily.
But everything changed in the later rounds.
Dubois gradually fought his way back into the contest, landing powerful shots and taking control of the fight.
By the eighth round, Wardley had already suffered visible facial injuries, but he continued fighting with great heart despite the damage.
The referee took a close look at Wardley in both the ninth and 10th rounds as he struggled to stay on his feet, but the challenger refused to back down and kept fighting on instinct and determination.

However, the punishment eventually became too much.
In the 11th round, Dubois landed another series of heavy blows before knocking Wardley out to complete a remarkable comeback victory.
Speaking after the fight, Dubois praised Wardley for his toughness and determination.
“It was a war. We came through the sticky moments. Thank you Fabio for that.”
The victory was Dubois’ 23rd win as a professional in 26 fights and saw him become a two-time heavyweight world champion.
For Wardley, it was the first defeat of his professional career, leaving him with a record of 20-1-1.
Despite the loss, his courage and resilience throughout the fight earned him respect from boxing fans around the world.
