Crvena Zvezda has announced that forward, Peter Olayinka’s contract has left the club, citing the Player’s decision to leave for a ‘new challenge’.
Also known as Red Star Belgrade, the Serbian club confirmed the decision in a statement released on its official social media accounts in midweek.
Club Statement:
“The Crvena Zvezda football club informs the public that it has mutually terminated its cooperation with Peter Olayinka, with mutual understanding and respect. Peter expressed his desire to seek a new challenge in his career, and the club accommodated him, with gratitude for his professional attitude, dedication, and contribution to our team in the previous period. Crvena Zvezda thanks Olayinka for everything he has done in the red and white jersey and wishes him much success, health, and happiness in the continuation of his career. Thank you, Peter, and good luck.”
Olayinka joined Red Star Belgrade in the summer of 2023 as a free agent.

He made 65 appearances for the club, scoring 15 goals and providing 10 assists. He also won the Serbian SuperLiga and Serbian Cup during the 2023–2024 season.

Injuries, however, affected his time with the team. Last season, he missed 35 matches due to an Achilles tendon rupture, and this season he managed only six appearances, starting two.
Olayinka will now look to continue his career elsewhere, hoping to rediscover the form that made him a key figure at Slavia Prague, where he became a fan favorite.
