Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season is here and we’ll be treated to an NFC battle featuring the Washington Commanders visiting the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay enters as a slight 3.5-point home favorite, with an over/under of 48.5. Both of these teams won their respective season openers last Sunday and are looking to jump out to a 2-0 start with a win in this primetime matchup.

Below we will take a look at the best DFS plays for this Thursday night showdown.

Captain’s Picks

Josh Jacobs, RB, Packers (FLEX $12,400, CPT $18,600)

Jacobs got off to a nice to start to the regular season in Week 1, rushing for 66 yards off 19 carries and a touchdown in the team’s 27-13 victory over the Lions last Sunday. It was notably his ninth straight regular season game with a touchdown and his ability to find the end zone consistently makes him a player to always consider putting at the top of your DFS lineup. This game is no different.

Deebo Samuel (FLEX $10,200, CPT $15,300)

Samuel made his debut for the Commanders last Sunday and showed why the team traded for him this past offseason. He ended up catching seven of 10 targets for 77 yards and also took an end-around 19 yards to the house for a touchdown in their 21-6 victory over the Giants, earning 19.1 fantasy points in DFS. So far, it looks like the Commanders are trying to simply get the ball into his hands by any means necessary and that bodes well for him as a potential captain in DFS lineups.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt (FLEX $8,600, CPT $12,900)

The training camp hype surrounding JCM was justified as he put together an impressive showing in his NFL debut. The seventh-round rookie took 10 carries for 82 yards and a touchdown against the Giants last week and pulled this off even as veteran starter Austin Ekeler took most of the snaps. There’s a chance for “Bill” to get more touches moving forward and could provide really good value for lineups as a captain.

Value flex plays

Zach Ertz (FLEX $5,200, CPT $7,800)

Ertz hauled in three receptions for 26 yards and a touchdown in his Commanders debut last Sunday and while those aren’t necessarily explosive numbers, his presence in the red zone always makes him a scoring threat. I think that he’s worth a FLEX spot in this matchuo.

Tucker Kraft (FLEX $5,000, CPT $7,500)

Similar to Ertz, Kraft found the the end zone in the Packers’ season-opening win last Sunday and will look to do so again on Thursday night. His four targets were actually second on the team in Week 1 and you can expect Jordan Love to be looking his way again in this one.

Romeo Doubs (FLEX $4,200, CPT $6,300)

Doubs caught two big passes for 68 yards in Green Bay’s season-opening victory last Sunday, one of which being a 48-yarder that set up a Jayden Reed touchdown on the very next play. Reed is dealing with a foot injury heading into this contest, so expect Doubs to get an increased target share even in the Packers’ wide receiver committee.
