Japan’s Sony raised its net profit forecast for the current financial year to 970 billion yen ($6.6 billion) on Thursday, up from the previous estimate of 930 billion yen.
In the first quarter, the PlayStation 5 maker logged a net profit of 259 billion yen, up 23 per cent on-year.

It said it expected its annual earnings to be boosted by increased income in the gaming sector as well as a smaller-than-expected impact of US tariffs.
